Valuing & Uplifting Lawrence

On behalf of our Board of Commissioners and staff, we welcome you to the Lawrence Housing Authority of the City of Lawrence, Massachusetts. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking organization designated by the U.S. HUD as a High Performer Agency.

The LHA was created as a result of the Housing Act of 1937 to provide decent, affordable housing to low- and moderate-income Lawrentians.

A New Era

Our housing stock is composed of large family developments and elderly disabled high-rises, scattered throughout the city.

We partner with the Lawrence Police Department to provide responsive and pro-active policing throughout the LHA sites.

A Dedicated Team

here for you

Since its inception the Lawrence Housing Authority has played a significant role in the history of Lawrence, known as the city of immigrants. Over the last 70 years, we have served many generations of immigrant communities.

Our friendly staff is on hand—from our property offices to our headquarters to our grounds—to ensure a safe, accessible experience for our residents.
